SSRI withdrawal support for the mind, body, and soul.
You were never meant to do this alone.
Tapering off of antidepressants is such a personal decision, and requires a trusted support system to help you navigate the uncharted terrain. Every tapering experience is unique, and requires a personalized supportive approach.
At Unmedicating Me, you’ll find a safe, structured, and science-backed process to help you minimize withdrawal symptoms, restore balance, and rediscover your natural emotional and physical balance.
What Makes This Different
When someone decides they are ready to come off of their SSRI, they generally will go to their doctor for an initial consultation. Their prescriber will likely advise a linear taper, lasting anywhere from 2-4 weeks in length. The common narrative is that you may notice some mild withdrawal symptoms, but they shouldn’t last longer than a few days to a few weeks. The unfortunate reality of this, however, is that following a linear taper, no matter how long the individual was on their medication for, leaves the individual with a very sensitized system, often “confirming” to their prescribers for the need to reinstate the drug. But the truth is — your brain and body don’t respond linearly to dose changes, as previous literature as suggested.
At Unmedicating Me, you’ll be guided through a functional tapering approach that integrates:
Hyperbolic tapering science (aligned with receptor occupancy data)
Nervous system regulation (breath, sleep, rhythm, and light exposure)
Functional nutrition and lifestyle support
Emotional resilience and integration work
Every plan is personalized, because every unique is individual. All plans are informed by neuroscience, and guided by compassion.

SSRI Tapering Ally (I’m walking the walk, too!)
For nearly twenty years, antidepressants were part of my daily life. They helped me through many seasons when I needed stability. But because I was medicated as a child, over time, I began to wonder who I really was as an adult underneath my Zoloft.
When I decided to begin tapering, I did what most people do: I looked for guidance. What I found instead were conflicting opinions, fear-based forums, and a lack of structured, compassionate support. The medical system offered little beyond “just cut your dose in half for a couple of weeks,” and the alternative medicine community often lacked the nuance or science I needed to really feel safe and secure in my next steps.
So I did what I knew how to do best — I studied, tracked, tested, and listened to my body.
As I dove deeper into the science, I discovered why antidepressant withdrawal can feel so destabilizing. Your brain’s serotonin transporters (SERT) don’t decrease in a straight line — they follow a hyperbolic curve. That means a 10mg drop at 100mg isn’t the same as a 10mg drop at 25mg. The lower you go, the more those tiny reductions matter.
Once I started applying this understanding — along with nervous system support, functional nutrition, and trauma-informed tools — everything changed. My tapers became calmer, my symptoms shorter, and my nervous system steadier. I realized this process didn’t have to feel like survival. It could actually become a pathway towards healing. TRUE healing. The kind of stuff I was seeking in the first place. (Oh, the irony!)
After years of coaching others in brain health and functional medicine, I knew this was the gap I was meant to fill: helping people come off antidepressants safely, slowly, and intuitively.
Unmedicating Me was born out of two truths:
The science of antidepressant tapering matters — precision, pacing, and physiology all count.
But healing the nervous system and reconnecting with yourself matter just as much.
My work bridges both. I combine evidence-based strategies (like hyperbolic tapering and nervous system alignment) with practical health and lifestyle coaching to make this journey more grounded, less fearful, and deeply restorative.
I believe in:
Data-informed compassion — using science to guide choices, not to control them.
Collaboration — working in tandem with your prescriber to ensure medical safety.
Nervous-system first — regulating before reducing.
Empowerment — teaching you how to understand your body’s signals and respond with confidence.
Together, we’ll create a plan that’s personalized to your physiology, your needs, and your readiness. If you’re ready to explore what it might look like to taper safely, or you simply want to understand your options, I’d love to connect.
